Filipina Women and the Davao, Philippines City Guide – Overview
The Filipina women in Davao have a reparation for making great girlfriends. Let’s take a closer look to and break down how to meet and date Filipina women in Davao.
Safety is always a topic of concern when it comes to the Philippines, but I would consider Davao as the safest city in the Philippines. The current president of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte was the previous mayor here. His strict rule for the war on drugs and trying to improve the quality of life in the Philippines started here in Davao. As mayor, he instilled a strong police presence to rid the streets of drug dealers, prostitutes and scammers.
Taxi drivers are kept in check and they know that. If they try and steal your money or try to scam you, report them immediately. I never had a problem with Taxi’s and as long as you don’t flash your cash in front of them you should be fine. Also, smoking in public is banned. Which is surprising for a South East Asian city as smoking is rampant everywhere.
Walking around the streets is safe and clean. You can walk the streets of the city center at 4am and feel completely safe (trust me, I did it multiple times). There’s a police officer armed with an assault rifle posted on every major intersection. Additionally, police cars are patrolling the streets 24 hours a day. Currently, the president’s daughter has taken over as mayor. She continues to follow her father’s policy for the safety of this city.
Davao is the biggest city in Mindanao island and is located in the southernmost part of the island. Even though the Philippines is a catholic nation (thanks to Spain). Mindanao has the largest Muslim population in the Philippines. It’s not uncommon to hear the Muslim prayer going off around the city 5 times a day.
You will see more Filipina women wearing hijabs in Mindanao than anywhere else in the Philippines. As far as Davao goes, I believe the majority of the city is Catholic but the Muslim presence is there.
The local language is Cebuano also called Visaya, but Filipina women speak English very well.
Try and find a hotel or AirBnB anywhere in this area. All the good bars, clubs and restaurants are located here:
I stayed at the Magallanes Residences which is an upscale apartment complex. I would recommend staying here. I booked a 1-bedroom apartment on AirBnB. The location is great as it’s right in the heart of the Davao city center. The residences are safe, clean and you can bring girls back here no problem. No need to sign them in with security.
As of May 2017, Grab only has the taxi option. No independent driver with a normal car. Maybe in the future they will bring in regular independent drivers. When using Grab, sometimes the Grab taxi will not answer your request or there’s just none around. But the regular taxis are safe and just as cheap. The hotel staff or the security of the apartment complex can call a taxi for you.
Filipina women in Davao
Filipina women in Davao tend to be more conservative compared to other cities in the Philippines. Partly because of the Muslim presence in the island and the girls are more traditional here. Even if the girl isn’t Muslim she won’t easily spread her legs for you. It’s not like Manila or Cebu where girls sleep around and are open about sex.
I would consider Davao as a place to find a wife or long term serious girlfriend. You can still sleep around here, but you’ll have to put the work in.
Tinder and Filipino Cupid are solid here especially as a foreigner. There won’t be as many profiles compared to Manila or Cebu, but there will be enough cure Fillipina women enough to make it worth your while.
Even though it’s only open at night. The Roxas Night Market is an awesome place that’s open every night. They have cheap food and plenty of girls go there to eat, walk around and hang out. Great place for “day game” even though its night time and it’s a good spot for tinder dates. Also, any SM or Ayala mall is a good place as many Filipna women walk around and hang out there.
Most of the bars and clubs are on Polo St which is in the city center. The people who party in Polo St. are more of your middle class and ex-pat folks. I will comment on the venues that I have visited or what the locals recommend. Nightlife here in Davao is not the biggest but it has enough.
Formerly “Acropolis”. I was here on a weekday and no surprise it was dead. The staff told me that it gets crowded on weekends. They have a good size dance floor. 100 peso cover (even on weekdays) but you get 1 free drink with that.
On Polo St. Weekends are crowded with a good ratio of Filipina women. I’ve never been on a weekday but people tell me its decent. Medium size club with an outdoor seating area. The dance floor is small with most of the club filled with tables. I found it easier to open and chat up Filipina women outside because of the loud music, small dance floor and everyone grouped in tables inside. 100 peso cover charge that gets you 1 free drink.
On Polo St. Next to Grid. Crowded on weekends but I don’t know how it’s like on weekdays. Medium size club with a small dance floor. Tables consume most of the club just like Grid. Good ratio of girls. 50 to 100-peso cover charge with no drink included? I forgot.
I never got a chance to visit, but the locals tell me it’s the biggest hottest club in town. Upscale venue. Only open on weekends. From all the hype I hear about this place I would say this would be your best night game spot.
801 Infinity Bar
On Polo St. Next to Grid and Alcatraz. This is an Ex-pat bar with 75% of the men being ex-pats or foreigners. Old western style theme bar with a live band. It’s a good place to start the night off with some drinks. I noticed that some of the waitresses were pretty hot. Try giving one of the waitresses your number and set up something on their day off.
Huckleberry Southern Kitchen & Bar
My favorite bar in Davao. Awesome date spot. I took a tinder date here and she loved it. Good place to have a chill night and drink. The food was pretty good too if you like southern American style food.
Ideal Night Game Schedule
Sunday – Thursday: Grid or Alcatraz.
Friday – Saturday: Club Echelon or WAV. Try Echelon first.
Jacks Ridge Restaurant
This restaurant is on top of a hill that offers a good view of Davao. Good date spot.
Cool park area in the city center. Nice place to take a stroll with your girl. A few monuments there that are worth a photo.
I enjoyed my time in Davao. I would walk the streets of Davao late at night and I never encountered a problem (I would not recommend doing this in other cities). Traffic isn’t as bad, smoking in public is strictly banned, cost of living is cheap, there are no street beggars, no hookers or pimps pulling tricks on the streets.
Expect to be popular on online dating sites with Filipina women such as Filipino Cupid here since only a few tourists visit Davao.
